FAQ

  • Candle Safety
Candles add a fragrant enhancement to living and work spaces and are safe to enjoy, but we encourage care and attention to the following guidelines: Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room and on a heat-resistant surface. Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Avoid drafts, vents, ceiling fans or other moving air pathways to encourage even burning and minimize smoke or a flickering wick. Never touch a burning candle or move a candle when the wax is liquid. Never extinguish candles with water. Make sure a candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room. Keep candles out of the reach of small children and pets. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
  • Candle Burning Best Practices
Before Always trim your wick to 1/8” - 1/4” before lighting. Every time. Your candle will burn longer, cleaner, and more evenly. During For the initial burn, allow the candle to create a full melted wax pool across the entire candle. This will ensure even burning and maximum fragrance release for the life of your candle and is typically achieved within 3 hours. For subsequent lightings we recommend a burn time of 3-4 hours, fully melting the wax across the top each time. If you like to leave a candle burning for an extended time, we strongly recommend extinguishing the flame, trimming the wicks, and relighting every 3-4 hours. This will prolong the burn time and reduce the possibility of excess carbon build-up on the wick tip (which occurs regardless of the wax / fragrance formula). If your wick begins smoking or flickering excessively, extinguish the flame and trim the wick – then relight the candle. Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, always matches and debris. After Use care when extinguishing the candle; a short, directed puff of air aimed at each wick is usually sufficient. Alternatively, you can use a candle snuffer. We do not recommend using a candle lid to extinguish the flame as this will trap smoke inside your container. Tip: to prevent smoke from an extinguished wick, gently bend the wick until it touches the melted wax. This will immediately extinguish any smoke. Alternatively, you can use a toothpick or other utensil to gently drip a couple drops of the melted wax onto the wick tip for the same result. Do not move candles until the wax is cooled and set. Use caution as containers can be hot to the touch. Discard candles when there is 1/4 inch of wax remaining. Always Enjoy your candles! Consider using several candles for a permeating fragrance in large spaces with high ceilings or open floor plans.
  • What wax do you use?
We use a custom blend of soy wax - natural, sustainable, vegan and non-toxic. The soy wax is neutral in scent. You can expect an even and long-lasting burn from our candles.
  • Aren’t all soy wax candles the same?
Unfortunately, no. There are many pre-blended waxes available to candle makers, and those manufacturers do not disclose their full formulas, other than stating what waxes are in the blend. We ONLY use natural soy wax . Our wax is considered vegan by the suppliers.
  • What size candle do I need for my space?
One candle works great in bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and typically sized living/work spaces. Larger rooms or spaces with high ceilings or open floor plans may need multiple candles for the best fragrance permeation. You can have multiple candles of the same scent, or mix and match them for your own unique blend. Also our double wick can covers more area than travel containers and single wick candles.
